"In Jest" Shows, Keynotes, and More with Nels Ross Cremean - Variety Artist - Clean Comedian - Keynote Speaker - Professional Oddball - Buffalo, New York, USA

Who is your target audiencE?

Anyone within throwing distance makes a good target. I've thrilled groups of all kinds and sizes, from bankers to bikers and 20 to 20,000 people. Keep in mind that shows can be tailored to adult or family audiences, arts-in-education programs are designed for young audiences, and keynotes are geared toward adults (or people who closely resemble adults).

How far will you travel?
The sky is the limit... though I prefer to work on the ground. While my arts-in-ed programs are provided mostly in the Northeast U.S., I've done shows and keynotes everywhere from New York to Los Angeles and Manitoba to Mexico. I can even do a visual comedy variety act for non-English speaking audiences.

What are your fees?
I'm a bit more than some talents and way less than others. (Ventriloquist Jeff Dunham makes around $50,000 per show. I'm cheaper.) If you're working with an agent or event planner, contact that person for booking info. Otherwise, contact me with your event details for a prompt reply.

How long are your programs?
It's up to you, although 24-hour presentations require a lot of caffeine. Typically, shows and keynotes are 30-60 minutes and arts-in-ed programs are 40-45 minutes. I've also done everything from 2-hour variety shows to full day seminars with other performers or presenters.

What are your technical requirements?
For an optimal experience or a full-scale production, refer to my Technical Specifications. However, I can work in almost any clean, well-lit space. Except for hospital operating rooms. They don't like that.

Did you study Stan Laurel? Red Skelton? Dick Van Dyke?
While I've been influenced by many comedians from the silent film era to modern times, I strive to develop original material and presentations. Still, I'm flattered by comparisons like these. (People also say that I look like Brad Pitt.)

ARE YOU RELATED TO NELS CREMEAN?
Not only are we related but we have the same birth certificate! My full name is Nels Ross Cremean and I decided to use my middle name for performing and presenting because it's easier to spell and remember.

Are you always silly?
Yes... except for when I'm not. I enjoy promoting laughter – it's not the answer to everything, but it has a way of breaking down barriers, building bridges, and bringing about healing. For more of my thoughts on this, see "Let There Be Laughter" (PDF).
